Turbo Print vs The WorldA bit about us and our environmental policy.
Like most UK printers we are always conscious of any environmental impact we may have. As a result we use FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) approved papers for 99% of our small format printing (leaflets, flyers, business cards etc.) This means that paper is obtained from managed sources. We can offer fully recycled paper as an alternative to this but ironically recycled paper is more expensive and therefore less popular. If you do require recycled paper for your print needs, please contact us to discuss this in more detail.
Sadly a few of our products require the use of a few nasties! We have worked hard however with ink suppliers and substrate suppliers to make sure that any products we do have to use like this present the lowest possible impact on the environment. To counter this we are currently investigating offset programmes to ease both our conciouses and ultimately those of our customers, and as more environmentally friendly methods of print are developed, we aim to introduce these to our current practises. The main example of these products are those where solvent inks are used, mainly for outdoor and weather proof work, and where oil based substrates ie. PVC/ Vinyls are used. All printers have these issues to deal with, we're being honest, but sadly many printing companies will tell you that they use eco or environmentally friendly materials, which often turns out to be untrue.
We recycle everything we possibly can, paper waste, toner cartridges, cardboard packaging etc. and also re-use everthing we can as well, although we do draw the line at tea-bags!
We're not saying we do anything special - most UK printing companies will follow guidelines like these, but we thought you might like to know.
If you require any further information on our practises or products please feel free to contact us.
