About us
Crystal Connection is
owned and run by Jackie
& Barrie Wakeford. We
have owned the shop
since April 2006.
Although there has been
a gift shop on this site
since 2001.
Jackie has had a long career
in retail. Starting in a
Jeweller's in Hounslow
in her teens, she
progressed over the
years to become a
manager for Ratners, She
then spent some time
with The Jewellers Guild
and moved to London
Heathrow to work for
Trust House Forte as
manager of the gift
shops in terminal three.
Marriage and children
led her away for a
number of years until we
decided to move and buy
our own shop.
Since taking over the
shop, Jackie has
increased the lines
carried, trained as a
Crystal Healer. Through
her hard work the shop
won an award from
Kindred Spirit, the
leading magazine for
alternative therapy for
best retailer 2008. We
donated a large amethyst
cathedral to a local
charity and Jackie was
in the local paper and
on the radio.
Barrie on the other
hand, left school in
1978 and went straight
into learning about
Jewellery. He studied in
London's Hatton Garden,
to make and repair all
types of Jewellery. He
set up his own business
in 1982 repairing
jewellery for around 10
local shops. He went
from there to The
Jewellers Guild, setting
up their centralised
workshop. Getting our
own shop has enabled
Barrie to extend his
Jewellery making and to
offer a repair service
that is second to none.
